  1. Appalachian Games and Crafts

    July 12, 2021, 9:00 AM - July 15, 2021, 10:30 AM @ Norton Community Center

    Create crafts that children made in the Appalachian mountains over 100 years ago. Toys such as ball in a cup, corn husk dolls, and Jacob's Ladder. Play games such as marbles, sack races, cat's cradle, and more. The camp is open to boys and girls ages 8-12. The camp's instructor will be Anne Newlun. Registration forms can be picked up at Norton Elementary and Middle School or the Norton Community Center, 201 Park Ave. NE. For more information, contact the Norton Parks and Recreation Department at (276) 679-0754. Participants must pre-register for all camps. Please be aware that camp sizes are limited and camps may be subject to change. Social distancing will be practiced during this camp. Please wear a mask. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided.

  2. Basketball Camp

    July 12, 2021, 10:00 AM - July 15, 2021, 2:00 PM @ Norton Elementary School Gym

    Campers will learn handling skills and the fundamentals of basketball. Please wear appropriate clothing, including socks and tennis shoes. The camp is open to boys and girls grades 1-7. The camp's instructors will be Terry Sturgill and the J.I. Burton High School boys and girls basketball teams. Lunch will be provided by Norton City Schools. Registration forms can be picked up at Norton Elementary and Middle School or the Norton Community Center, 201 Park Ave. NE.   3. Weaving

    Learn about different types of weaving. Campers will create a warp and design a wall hanging. Potholders and a basket will also be made. The camp is open to boys and girls ages 7-10.
