On June 23rd, the Norton Industrial Development Authority awarded over $60,000 to four local businesses that participated in the second Norton Business Challenge. The participants attended five weekly classes and were required to submit a formal business plan for judging and also present a "Shark Tank" style pitch to judges.
The Norton Business Challenge is a training/education series for new entrepreneurial ventures and/or existing businesses looking to expand in Downtown Norton. The participants will have the opportunity to acquire important skills and tools necessary for success and also have the opportunity to network with other regional entrepreneurs.
The Norton Business Challenge was sponsored by the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development's Community Business Launch Program and the Norton Industrial Development Authority.
