Employment Services are provided to Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) recipients to help individuals secure employment, training, or education leading to employment with a goal of self-support. Aspects of the Employment Services Program may include individual job search, education / training, community work experience and supportive services such as transportation and child care for eligible clients.
Virginia Initiative for Employment not Welfare (VIEW)
VIEW clients are given two years to become gainfully employed and off welfare roles. Supportive services such as child care, Medicaid, and transportation are offered during this two-year period with the addition of an additional year of transitional services.
Day Care Services
These services are provided to assist families to achieve economic independence through employment. TANF recipients, as well as eligible citizens employed in low-wage jobs, can receive childcare assistance through approved providers. Day care providers can also receive training to enhance the quality of day care in Norton.
